Standing On The Threshold

July 30, 2012 by Devin Henkel Leave a Comment

Some things that are amazing me:

  • We can smash atoms together to unlock a particle that only existed in math equations a month ago.
  • We can store enough data to simulate a living organism.
  • We can slow down time enough to sort through photons and see around corners.
  • We can sort through vast amounts of data and determine that someone is pregnant based on their purchases.
  • We can harvest the knowledge of the crowd so that gamers can solve the mysteries of organic chemistry and retired radio engineers solve puzzles of astronomy.

We truly live in an unprecedented era of knowledge. The future looks more exciting than ever as new practical applications emerge from these advancements. What recent developments have you all geeked up?
