Last night, I had a dream about new Apple technology. If they haven’t already begun design on this, I suggest they should.
It was a small tablet that served as my Apple TV remote. All of the media functions were available as well as an onscreen keyboard to speed things up. I was able to flip through media just like my iPhone, and touching it on the pad made it play on the screen.
In addition to remote functionality, it contained the search functions I mentioned in the post about Beyond Broadcast. Instead of hijacking a button on the remote, the control pad kept a running frame of entities extracted from the media stream in a box on the interface. Touching one with your finger brought up the categorized search results right on the remote. It was freakin’ cool.
Later in the dream, I had to go into a different room, so I hit a button on the device and the video started playing on the tablet. When I got back to the TV, another touch sent the video back to the big screen.
It was a crazy dream. So crazy, it just might work…
