A recent email exchange at work left me laughing and wondering if people lacked a basic understanding of how “Reply All” works. Occasionally, those of us who work a little too much get nastygrams from HR informing us that we’ve hit the limit on vacation accrual and will begin losing time if we don’t take some vacation soon. On November 30th, just such a note went out. Today, one of my colleagues innocently asked how quickly the vacation time adds up and hilarity ensued…

Timothy:
It depends on how long you’ve been with the firm. 0-2 years will accrue X hours per month, and anyone over 2 years of service will accrue Y hours per month. That’s what I understand. Thanks.

All – the reason you are getting mass emails is because people are hitting “reply all” to an HR email sent earlier. Please do not reply all asking to be unsubscribed — that will just spam everyone else with similar emails.
This will die down if everyone simply stops replying all to this thread.

Just shows that
1. Way too many people need a vacation.
2. People, learn how to use email. We’re supposed to be techh-savvy [sic] but maybe aren’t!
3. Pretty funny, though.
